What a week! After emailing last Monday, we got transfer news! A transfer is every 6 weeks. Missionaries will rotate or switch around areas in the mission for different purposes. No one knows if they are staying in the area or leaving, so it is pretty exciting! Turns out, I am getting transferred!! I am moving to Sungai Plan, which is right next to TJK. In fact, the Sungai Plan and TJK Elders live in the same house, so all I have to do is switch study rooms haha. Here is what my new area looks like!

Yup. 230 apartments, 4,000 people, within a 1/2 a mile of each other! Crazy crazy. Normally area consists of three or four towns, but Sungai Plan is just a huge apartment complex! Here is my new companion, Elder Sorensen. He was in my same district in the MTC!!! He is planning to play lacrosse for BYU after the mission. We both are suppose to be "in training," but they probably ran out of trainers. So we are basically training ourselves! It is so fun!
This week was an interesting one! On Wednesday we were able to teach a youth at their school! As we were teaching from the Book of Mormon, about 10 other students came over and listened to the whole lesson! We gave all of them a copy of the Book of Mormon and they all wanted to learn more. Really cool. I felt like the Savior as He taught the children. It was a sacred moment to remember the Savior and how much He cares for the children.
Also, as we were walking around the apartments, we saw a group of men carrying a bore into on of the apartments. The bore was leaving a blood trail all over the place. The guy said someones grandpa died. What a feast!! Later that day, we watched a video from President Monson that talks about asking people who they know that experienced a death in the family. That way, we can teach them about how they will see their loved one again! So you know what we did?? I used my inner hunter skills and we tracked the blood of the bore haha. We followed the line of blood until it stopped. We didn't end up finding the family, but we ended up finding someone near the blood trail that wanted to learn more! What a weird and crazy miracle haha.
Elder Sorensen and I used our singing skills (his better than mine) to get some more contacts as well. These teenagers were playing guitar and singing, so we joined in! They handed Elder Sorensen the guitar and we sang silent night to them haha. They all wanted to learn more! I guess the Spirit works through two missionaries attempting to sing a spiritual hymn!
I have been pondering these two questions lately:
1. What are you willing to sacrifice?
2. What are you willing to become?
These questions can apply to all our lives, regardless of what we are wanting to accomplish. Some may see this mission as two years of sacrifice. I see it as two years of focusing on others and the Savior. So is it really a sacrifice? What can we become through our Savior? Not something "bigger and better" as commonly stated in the world. With the Savior, we can become smaller and simpler. We can focus less on ourselves and more on others! I am grateful to be serving a mission, looking up to the example of my Brother Kyler and my parents, and looking forward for Keldon and Londyn to serve a mission too!
Love,

ADDITIONS FROM THE MOM:
Q: When do you watch General Conference
A: "I watch conference next week, because of all the translations. Also we are 12 hours ahead so we would be watching all through the night if we watched it when you do, wich is a no go, so we just all watch it next week. Weird, huh??"
