WEEK #64 - Iban Nation

Nama berita? (How are you in Iban)

What a great week!

District Council was titled, "Pair to the Spirit."
I have a blue tooth speaker to connect my phone to. Every time I try and connect my phone to the speaker, there are a lot of other options to connect to. There are phones, TVs, and other electronic devices that are available to connect with. There are a lot of things in our lives that we can connect to: our phones, friends, temptations, etc. The most important thing to be paired to is the Spirit! During District Council I changed my speakers name to be "The Spirit" so I can always remind myself haha. Once connected to a device, there is an "unpair" option. I hope I never have to worry about being unpaired from the Spirit.

Green burgers!
Two is better than one!

On Tuesday we taught Owen about the importance of CPR (Church, Pray, Read). It's like trying to write with a pen with one finger (without using the space between the thumb and index finger) - near impossible! With two fingers you can manage to write something down, but it will be sloppy. With three fingers (normally the thumb, index, and middle fingers) you can write something nice and professional. If we want to have the doctrine of Christ written in our hearts, we have to know how to write! CPR will allow us to understand the language of revelation.
Cleaning cleanin cleanin!

On Thursday we watched the Restoration video with Brother Remon and Brother Awie's family. It is always powerful and touching. Afterwards, Roslind (their 13 year old daughter) said, "I want to share this with everyone right now!!"
Mohawk!

A lot of Ibans move to Johor from Sarawak. Occasionally there are some crazy connections. We met this one guy named Robert. Turns out he is from Miri and has been to the church there before! It is a small world, even here in Johor!

 Night shift

Friday was exchanges with Elder Bishop. It is always little tricky when you are a Malay Elder and the other missionary is a Chinese Elder. You do most of the talking the whole day! He's a great Elder and I learned a lot from him.

Sunday was special. Sister Rohzana gave her first talk! Brother Remon blessed the sacrament for the first time. It all seems surreal.

Love, Elder LaRose
