WEEK #35 - Miracles in Miri

Good morning everyone!!

Shout out to Keldon!! It was his 17th birthday this week!! Yikes your so olddddddd. I'm still waiting for that chest hair to grow in though😜 hope you had a great birthday!!

The title for district meeting this week was "Spiritually Found, Spiritually Fed."

In order to find those who are prepared, we must have the faith to find them. Without faith we really can't do anything else! Apart of that is being grateful for when we have found those people. We took a minute to discuss as a companionship how the Lord had blessed us this transfer. It was a great experience, the Lord really has given us so much. I encourage you all to take a minute today and see how Heavenly Father has blessed your life.
The Book of Mormon in Malay

We then focused on what is really most important in lessons: The Spirit! Even if they are confused or don't understand, as long as the Spirit touches their hearts they are progressing and changing. Our role as missionaries and teachers is to invite the Spirit into each lesson, SO THAT CHANGE CAN HAPPEN. So to those who hold callings in the church or share a responsibility as a parent, as long as those you teach feel the Spirit, it is pleasing unto God. Trust the Spirit to help you pray for, prepare with, and preach to all that is in accordance with God's will.
Yup that's right, we were a part of Young Womens! (youth night for the girls)

News Alert: We found the first Mexican deemed food stand in Malaysia. What a miracle! :)

Speaking of miracles, Wednesday was a miracle day! One day during planning, Elder Curtis said, "Let's go to Taman Tunku. That is like a 2 HOUR BIKE RIDE. We decided to go with it! We took a "grab" (kinda like Uber in America) out there. It was seriously like Heaven there. Every single person we talked to said they wanted to learn. Not one said no!! Isn't that crazy? There was one girl in particular, her name is samadia. When we started speaking Malay, her eyes got SO wide. When she said she was Iban, and we started speaking Iban to her, her mouth got SO wide. What are these white people doing here speaking a language only known to 20,000 people? It was awesome haha. When we brought up the Book of Mormon, she was really curious. All her life she'd been taught that the Bible was the only word of God. When she saw the evidence that God continues to provide revelation and scripture in our day, she said it makes perfect sense. If God is still alive, why wouldn't he continue to be "the same yesterday, today, and forever"! (Hebrews 13:8). When we bore testimony that the Book of Mormon is true, she began to cry. We had all felt the Spirit in such a way as to bring greater power to our words and greater promise to our message. It was one of the coolest contacts of my mission so far. I hope each of you can understand just how beautiful and powerful God's word is :)
This is a HUGE moth.

That same day, we saw a small family outside of their house. We went up to talk to them. They were rushing into the car for something, so we didn't really have enough time to share our message. We asked if we could come back on Friday and they said "ok ok ok ok." We weren't too sure how reliant that appointment would be, but we decided to be loyal to it. When we showed up, the son and wife were at the house. Then, about 14 OTHER PEOPLE walked out of the house as well. It was a "rumah sewa" which means they were renting the house. Apparently it was this huge family of grandma and grandpa, children, aunts, uncles, step uncles, and so on haha. They all came outside to listen. We shared about the Book of Mormon. They were really receptive! We set a return appointment for Sunday :) What another miracle!! It was much like the setting when Jesus Christ was teaching the people and children on the mountainside. The only thing we needed was a nice mountain and Jesus Christ and it would've been perfect! ðŸ˜œ
The members have a pet monkey!! What are the chances?

This week was just so great! I feel so grateful to be a Representative of Jesus Christ. In fact, we all are! Doing missionary work will bring greater satisfaction to your life than any other work.

You are all the best! Love you tons!
